The Norwegian translators’ association announces an AI contract addendum negotiated with NFFO and the publishers’ association. The webpage lists four clauses: training on a translation requires special permission from the other contracting party; AI processing by the publisher and AI translation by the translator require agreement between the parties, except for ordinary word-processing and proofreading functions. Existing contracts can be renegotiated to add the clauses.
Material description
Read HTML lines 137–159, including all four addendum clauses. Publication is dated 5 September 2024; the exact signing or completion-of-negotiations date was not independently checked. The association’s head says it applies thereafter, which does not mean every existing contract was automatically updated or enforced. The linked attachment was not read and no historical snapshot retained. Definitions such as BERT are kept as the contract’s own wording, not an independent technical classification. It relates to CEATL statement case-0179 but is a different agreement; this earlier catalogue note treated it as a separate candidate.
