Clause 70 of SINDCINE/SIAESP’s Brazilian collective agreement accepts AI intended to improve and assist technical labour while committing to protect human creative labour. Its first paragraph protects creative copyright and prohibits reproduction of creators’ materials used by AI without their prior consent, including partial use or mixing with others’ works.

Material description

A 51-page scanned PDF. Images of pages 1, 31, 39 and 40 were actually viewed; clause 70 on page 39 is the central evidence. Other pages were initially located only through thumbnails, not read in full. The cover is dated São Paulo, 21 August 2024, which supplies the document date, not a web publication or verified effective date. Scope, validity, signature/registration pages and implementation required further checking at that stage. The clause is not a ban on all AI, and its copying provisions are not expanded into an independently verified training-permission regime. The temporary PDF was used for reading; the archive retains metadata and links only, not a third-party document copy. The event uses the joint statement’s dateline, 29 August 2024; the webpage was published on 3 September 2024. The scanned agreement’s cover and page 46 bear 21 August 2024, differing from the statement’s signing date. Both are retained without an unsupported correction. Clause 81 gives 1 May 2024–30 April 2026 for general clauses and an end date of 30 April 2025 for economic clauses. These periods are not conflated with the statement’s claim of effectiveness or a registration date. Images of pages 6, 7, 46 and 47 were checked in this batch; page 47 shows names/signature images, not handwriting authentication or proof of government registration. Final registration and subsequent agreements remain unchecked.
