Case chronology
PSNZ dates the July 2025 version of its photography AI policy
PSNZ requires entries to originate in entrants' own optical capture. It allows capture assistance and non-generative editing but prohibits generative AI visual content. Breaches can lead to disqualification, and original unedited files may be requested for verification.
Research question
a photography organisation uses optical capture and photographers' control to distinguish permitted assistance from prohibited generated content.
